Osteria Mbare

I celebrated my birthday at Osteria Mbare last summer with a dear friend, we had the Bottomless Carbs and Bubbles. For 40 you can enjoy an hour and a half of unlimited refills of Prosecco and the chef’s daily special pasta dishes, which seems excellent value for London. We were presented with a new pasta dish every 15 minutes or so, these were sized appropriately to the amount of diners on the table and were ideal for the two of us sharing. It was nice not knowing what the dishes were and finding out when they arrived. All but one of the seven dishes were meat free, the other one having seafood. Despite being a meat eater this actually made a nice change, the sauces were delicious without the need for meat to be included. My favourite pasta was the green pea fusilli which had a really unique flavour. The bottomless Prosecco was a nice feature of our meal as well, the waiting staff were regularly topping up our glasses. There was orange juice available as well to make mimosas, the only slight downside was that they had run out of the peach puree to make bellinis. The staff had seen my birthday card on our table and were really thoughtful and attentive to surprise me with a vanilla panna cotta with a candle and Happy Birthday sung to me. This was a really sweet touch and made the meal, on top of what had already been an amazing experience. The decor in the restaurant was really nice, on one of the walls they had full Aperol, Campari and Crodino bottles lined up on display. There were windows in the ceiling which gave a nice natural lighting, and trendy large lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling above the stairs downstairs. I would definitely recommend this experience and plan to return

Lovely place, staff were so helpful and attentive throughout our meal! We were seated at the bar while waiting for our table and they were very speedy with it, food was amazing!! We did 4 small plates between the 3 of us and then a pasta each and that was definitely enough, we were so full!

What a great spot. The food was exceptional. Octopus isn't always easy to get right but this was perfectly cooked and presented simply. The mushroom and seafood pastas were both excellent. Nicely fitted out, excellent service from Italians, reasonable prices. My only comment would be that either the prawns need to be de-veined or they should give you a bowl of water for rinsing your fingers One of the best Italian restaurants in the area.

We had a great night at Osteria Mbare. Excellent food, service and cocktails. The octopus and endive salad was fantastic. The seafood spaghetti and mushroom & truffle fettuccine were both delicious. We were too full for dessert unfortunately. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Incredible oh my god! This was some of the best food we have had in a long time - we had the burrata and pork belly starter and then 3 mains between us - the seafood pasta, the nduja e burrata pasta, and the sea bream. The food was incredible and we would 100% recommend the sea bream and seafood pasta (and will be coming back for more!!) - the sea bream was a whole (and very large) fish and was filleted for us by the table ! And the pasta portions are also really big !! The staff were absolutely amazing and service was quick, friendly, and went above and beyond. They offered to serve our dishes one-by-one rather than in two courses (as we shared all) which made it feel like we were having a tasting menu - what a special memory for date night. Thank you so much to the team for such a special and delicious evening - we will be back soon!!

We had a lovely evening at Osteria Mbare, the service was excellent and the food was lovely; you can tell the pasta is made fresh. Thank you to our lovely server who made me two very delicious Picante’s and the complimentary Limoncello was a nice touch!

We came here for the bottomless prosecco and pasta brunch on Sunday and really enjoyed it. The service was good, staff were friendly and the drinks and food all arrived promptly. The prosecco comes with orange juice and a tropical juice to mix with it, which is a nice touch. We loved all of the pasta dishes, especially the mushroom one. The only thing we would change is that we wish we had a list of all the pasta dishes on our table to remind us what each dish contained.
